Let the Weakling Say ‘I Am Strong’

[10] Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weakling say, “I am strong!” – Joel 3:10 (NIV)

Have you woken up one morning only to realise that you are feeling tired and weak? It has happened to me, as well as some people I know, several times. Sometimes, it is due to excessive work done the day before. Or maybe not sleeping early. But sometimes, such things happen without any of the above as their causative effect. No matter what caused it, how you respond to such a situation is crucial.

God’s Word clearly says in Joel 3:10 that “…Let the weakling say, ‘I am strong!’ ”. That means, even though you may feel weak, it is your words that will propel you up to be on your feet. So, words have the creative power to turn situations around. Anybody who keeps speaking negatively about their life will see things go downhill. But the one who keeps declaring God’s truth to oneself will keep progressing towards the full manifestation of all that God has called him to do. The question is, which kind of person are you?

Do you speak out of faith or out of fear? Can you remain confident in what the Lord has said about your life, no matter how many years it takes to come to pass? Keep saying to yourself that you are not a weakling. You are strong because God has equipped and fortified you to go through life. Have a winning mentality, no matter how many setbacks come your way.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me to remain strong in the face of all the atrocities in life. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
