“[41] When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. [42] In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!” — Luke 1:41 - 42 NIV
Everybody can greet. After all, greeting is just a matter of saying a few words. However, when a spiritual person greets you in the power of the Spirit, even through ordinary speech, how sensitive are your spiritual senses to discern what he’s saying?
Elizabeth was Zechariah’s wife. She was a minister too. But this woman had sharp spiritual senses. When Mary visited her home and heard her greeting, the child in her womb leaped. At once, Elizabeth got filled with the Spirit. Although it was little Jesus and John the Baptist communicating spiritually through their mothers’ wombs, how easy was it for Elizabeth to know that blessed was the baby Mary carried!
The Word doesn’t give an account of what Mary specifically said as a greeting to Elizabeth. But the impact was felt. Today, it’s sad to see believers moving from church to church, listening to one minister of God rather than another, all in the name of getting super-special revelations from one’s preaching.
Let me ask you a question. The three Word statement, “God loves you,” how well has it benefited your life? How deeply have you meditated in the Word?
Sometimes, God’s great gifts are hidden in small parcels. One Word from a child of God can end your struggle for years when you listen carefully to what God speaks through the person. Avoid treating words from spiritual men who know what they’re saying as jokes. You can benefit from their anointing powerfully if you learn to discern what they’re saying well with the help of the Holy Spirit.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for immense love and provision of spiritual senses in my life. I pray that I’ll be sharper to discern what You say through daily conversations with like-minded people in the faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
