[1] “I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. [2] He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. [3] He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.” — Psalms 40:1 - 3 NIV
Have you been in a situation where your hope got threatened? Maybe a money problem or meeting your partner, especially for females when they’re ageing. You look around your life, and you can’t see where help is coming from. I’ve been in several such situations before. But I can say with confidence that there’s none that God didn’t show up to rescue me. However, my testimony may encourage you, but it’s still not enough to make you hope in the Lord.
So one day, I opened the Word to read some verses in the Psalms. And I came across Psalm 40:1-3. In this Psalm, David was expressing gratitude unto God, who came to his rescue after waiting patiently for Him. But in verse 2, he explains what God did to him. God lifted him out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire. And where did He place him? He set his feet on a rock and gave him a firm place to stand. That means God lifted Him from a realm of adversity to a place of stability.
God is still in the business of turning nobodies into somebodies. He is still turning what the world regards as foolishness to confound the wise.

Today, I want to tell you that God is still in the business of turning nobodies into somebodies. He is still turning what the world regards as foolishness to confound the wise (1 Corinthians 1:25).
Can I encourage you today? It’s still not late for God to show up in your case. His ways are past finding out (Romans 11:33). Refuse to conform to the evil patterns of this world; for they can only produce evil. Know that God won’t disappoint you when you put your hope in Him. Keep your faith in Him firm.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Father, I pray that I’ll not turn over to the worldly opinions of people just because I am not living by their expectations. I choose to follow You all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
