Face What God Has Promised to Give You with Boldness

[6] “But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; [7] and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. [8] If the LORD delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land which flows with milk and honey.’ [9] Only do not rebel against the LORD, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the LORD is with us. Do not fear them.” – Numbers 14:6-9 (NKJV)

How you think has so much effect on how you talk. If you think wrongly, your speech will be full of negative words and vice versa. But how you think is also influenced by your interpretation of what you see. For example, if there’s a knife on a table, you can think of it as a tool to help you cook in the kitchen. Another person may also think of it as a tool to harm someone else. It’s the same knife on the table, yet with different interpretations. Why? Because of differences in thinking.

When God shows you where He’s taking you or gives you a glimpse of your future in a vision, it’s usually so beautiful and lovely that you’ll hardly think of how much time and process He’ll take you through to get there. That was what the Israelites didn’t know. They cried for deliverance in Egypt, and the Lord sent Moses. Now, after their deliverance, they complained so much in their forty-year journey in the wilderness to the promised land. So God wiped out the entire generation that left Egypt, except Joshua and Caleb. It was the next generation, Joshua and Caleb, that entered the promised land. But before they entered, Moses sent twelve people to survey the land. And guess what? Ten of them came with a bad report. The remaining two, Joshua and Caleb, even though they saw the same thing the ten saw, gave a good report about the land. What made the two reports different? It’s in how they interpreted the situation. The ten posed fear, but Joshua and Caleb said, “… the people are their bread.” Eventually, they defeated the Canaanites and possessed the land. Glory hallelujah!

You’ve got to face what God has promised to give you with boldness, not with timidity or fear. God is the all-powerful God. There’s nothing too hard for Him. However, He needs your partnership to fulfil His divine mandate for your life well. So don’t be afraid. When you feel like you can’t do that thing God spoke to you about, go back in prayer and draw your strength from Him. He’s with You!

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for divine empowerment to do what You’ve called me to do. Help me to face any standing block against what You’ve said about my life by the anointing so that it’ll make way for Your purposes to be fulfilled. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
