[7] “Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs.” — Isaiah 61:7 NKJV
In a world where many tribulations abound, it’s common to see people downcast and sad. Today, one bad thing happens, and tomorrow another follows. The continuous worldwide evil happenings make several people live not experiencing joy. But is that the life Jesus came to give us? No! He said in John 16:33 (NKJV) that,
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
We live in an evil age, so tribulations abound. But Jesus has overcome the world. And once He lives in us (2 Corinthians 13:5), we’re also overcomers of the world. Our lives are different because of Christ in us. So the prophet Isaiah said in Isaiah 61:7 that everlasting joy shall be ours, the children of God. So now, everlasting joy is yours because God is in you.
People may tell you it won’t work. Just use human intelligence to do something and get immediate results. But can you weigh God’s Word with man’s Word? Which one is stronger? It’s God’s Word.
Jesus hasn’t promised you a problem-free life. But for sure, He has given you His peace to dwell in you (John 14:27). Be of good cheer, child of God, because the lover of your soul is for you.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the assurance in Your Word that everlasting joy is mine in the name of Jesus. Despite the atrocities of life, I remain firm in Your Word. I pray, oh God, nourish me with Your Word abundantly. Amen!
