[18] “Therefore encourage one another with these words.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:18 (NIV)
Many people don’t value the importance of encouragement until they experience a severe calamity that leaves them anxious about life. On the other hand, many people also feel discouraged because life has not been fair to them. But I want you to ask yourself one question. That is, “What will you do to rise from a state of defeat to success?” It isn’t motivational messages; it is encouragement from the gospel.
There is so much grace in the gospel of Christ that it not only encourages you but also empowers you to live unto the Lord, no matter what has happened to you. Paul knew this through talk and experience because he had been in prison for preaching the gospel for several years.
Today, if you are encouraged by this devotional, go ahead and encourage another fellow. You may not know how many days someone’s life can be sustained by you sharing the gospel with him. I think many people who have committed suicide wouldn’t have done that if a preacher were by them. When your soul is troubled, go back to the gospel; it’ll save you.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to encourage another fellow with the gospel. Restore Your peace in those feeling anxious today. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
