“And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’ “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain." - Luke 12:16-18 NIV
God isn’t against financial prosperity, but He dislikes poor harvest management.
When Jesus narrated the parable of the rich fool, He never spoke against the man’s riches. However, He exposed his lack of wisdom in handling his harvest/resources.
The man had an abundant harvest, but he didn’t know what to do with it because his warehouse was full. Instead of sowing it in the ministry, he thought of destroying those crops. That was an insult to God because he devalued God’s principle of sowing and reaping.
Your harvest may not be grains but money or new converts after evangelism. How you keep it matters to God as much as how you get it.
Don’t waste your harvest just because you’re short of meaningful ideas of using them wisely. Remember that as a Christian, you’ll account before God with whatever you used your life to do (Romans 14:12). Again I say, “Don’t waste your harvest.” Think of better ways of using what God gives you to bear much more fruit.
You’re a blessing.
