Do Good Unto Your Enemies

[35] But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.” – Luke 6:35 (NKJV)

If there were people you may have desired to do good to, I suppose you’d not think about your enemies. Right? Yes, many people are grateful for the help others have poured into their lives, but they think of rewarding them more than their enemies. If you know that someone is willing to kill you, will you go and serve him food? Of course not. Right? But Jesus said you must love and do good unto your enemies. Wait a minute. Love!

You see, God’s love has no loopholes. It isn’t selective. It is available to all people. If you doubt it, just look at how God provides air and rain to people in this world. In every community, there are both wicked and poor men. But when God is supplying rain, everybody enjoys it. If God is that wonderful, why don’t you emulate His ways in your life?

If people can continue to be wicked towards you, you can also choose to continue doing good to them. People are more valuable than their actions and gifts. That is why God doesn’t give up on anyone, including you. Why? Because He knows how to transform someone from a dungeon in life to a glorious position to help many others. Instead of paying back evil for evil, do good in response to evil.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for all that You do for me. Help me to love people and do good to them for the praise of Your glory. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
