“Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.” — Colossians 4:2 NLT
Every Christian knows prayer is good. However, few people devote themselves to it. To devote yourself to prayer means to give most of your time, attention and energy to it. In other words, your days should be full of prayer, so much so that it’ll be your lifestyle.
Before Apostle Paul wrote these words to the Colossian church, he knew what prayer could do and how it has helped him. Even today, it hasn’t changed. Heaven changes so many bad things to good in the lives of people who pray persistently and effectively.
You cannot be a Christian and choose to treat prayer as something optional to do, especially when you’re in trouble. It’s good to pray, but it’s better to devote yourself to it. That means that your mind should be alert to it. So that whenever a life issue comes, you’d be awakened in your spirit to pray about it.
Mark 11:24 says,
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
Mark 11:24 NKJV
Beloved, don’t doubt God when you pray. Be thankful to God for everything first. And don’t give up because God hears your prayer.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that you’ll baptise me with a praying spirit that always awakens my mind to remain thankful and connected in fellowship with You. Amen!
