“May my supplication come before you; deliver me according to your promise.” — Psalms 119:170 NIV
God has promises concerning each person’s life. He chose us before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4). In other words, He knew us before framing this world. So that means He knows each person’s purpose before one becomes a blood clot on this earth.
Therefore, when David prayed and said, “Lord, deliver me according to Your promise,” he was saying that “God, look unto Your plan for my life and take me out of any trouble that’s making me drift from it.”
Listen, prayer isn’t all about asking God for material things. It’s primarily for fellowship. Fulfilment of your divine mandate matters to God so much that He prioritises purposeful prayers, not those with selfish intentions.
Maybe, you’re involved in something now that’s not connected to your purpose. Or you’re currently associating with the wrong company of people. Tell God to deliver you according to His promise concerning Your life; so that you’ll not err from purpose.

Prayer
Father, deliver me according to Your promise about my life – the one you had foreordained for me to experience. Guard me against all harm and any seemingly good endeavour indirectly geared towards taking me off Your path. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
