[10] “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” – Romans 12:10 (NIV)
Love has always been seen by several people as cuddles and kisses. But over time, especially for married couples, people come to the realisation that it is a commitment. So there are times when the people you love won’t always behave well, but because the commitment of love is there, forgiveness becomes something to practise consistently.
Paul said in Romans 12:10 that we should be devoted to one another in love. Today, there are more church hurts in each congregation. Many believers are hiding in the name of Christ to do evil things against other believers. And more people are leaving church because they can’t stand seeing the same people who offend them every week in church. Is that your case? Then, you must live with Romans 12:10 in your conscience.
Church is not a perfect place. Believers are gathered there to worship God, who continuously works on perfecting each person. Commit to loving the brethren despite what some of them do against you. And know that you came to Christ by faith. So don’t let that faith stand in how people treat you.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for everything You’ve been doing for me. I pray that I get the tenacity to love the brethren no matter what happens. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
