[24] “but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” – 1 Corinthians 1:24 (NKJV)
Anybody who wants to excel in this life needs many things aside from money. One of them is wisdom. Some people want to be rich but forget that making and managing wealth takes wisdom. However, according to James 3:15-17, there are two categories of wisdom: heavenly and demonic. So even though it takes a lot of wisdom to excel, if the wisdom the person is using isn’t heavenly, that is when the person will use dubious means to get to the top, which has consequences.
According to 1 Corinthians 1:24, Christ is the wisdom of God and the power of God. But I want to discuss Christ, the wisdom of God, in today’s devotional. What does it mean when the Bible says that?
Christ is the embodiment of all wisdom and knowledge (see Colossians 2:3), which means that everything called wisdom and knowledge that proceeds from God is in Him in full measure. But do you know something? He is also selfless. He liberally gives wisdom to anyone who asks Him (see James 1:5). So, if this Christ lives in you and He has all wisdom and knowledge, it means there’s no limit to the amount of wisdom you can get from Him. But it’s sad how many Christians live without much wisdom, and their lives aren’t advancing.
Yes, it is true that Christ lives in you. But to tap from His wisdom, you must constantly fellowship with Him. The more you know Jesus, the more you’ll grow in wisdom. Never forget this!
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your provision of wisdom in me. Help me to be wiser every day as I fellowship with you. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
