“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” - John 17:3 NKJV
Life is more than what one will eat, drink and wear. Yet, these are the very things most people work to get, including accommodation. Culture tells us indirectly that work to afford basic necessities of physical life. God says, seek first His kingdom, and all things will be added (magnetized) unto you (Matthew 6:33).
In many cases, our minds don’t get reoriented about this truth. So many people come into Christ expecting God to provide everything they need without seeking the things above.
In John 17:3, Jesus explains what eternal life means. He says eternal life is knowing the only true God and One (Jesus) He (God) has sent. When you see eternal life in this perspective of spiritual understanding, you’ll quit reducing God to a sugar-daddy or errand boy.
Maybe, you’ve not been taught what exactly is eternal life. But just because something wrong has persisted for years doesn’t make it right. Child of God, it’s time to see eternal life differently. Meditate on John 17:3 well. Allocate specific time to spend in prayer and God’s Word, and your mind will get renewed and aligned with Truth as the Spirit teaches you all things.
You’re a blessing.
