Bring The ‘Delivered’ To Jesus

[2] “… Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it. [3] And if anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it,’ and immediately he will send it here.” — Mark 11:2 - 3 NKJV

Many times some ministry leaders make the mistake of raising people with the sole view of making them pastors in their churches. Meanwhile, Jesus taught that the goal of salvation isn’t just to make people serve under a vision but to serve the Lord Himself. For such leaders, when a congregant, mature Christian or servant in the Lord’s house leaves the ministry, they feel very offended. Hear what Jesus said before entering Jerusalem triumphantly.

“Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it.”

So to Jesus, delivering a colt, representing someone bounded by the devil in the world or an unbeliever, is the minister’s work. But where to bring that person is unto Himself, not to the church or a fellowship. Why? Because the Master needs Him. Hence, if you go on evangelism and people get saved without them joining your ministry, you shouldn’t be disappointed.

Yes, it’s true many churches need more leaders, and the labourers in God’s kingdom are few. But Jesus is the builder of the Church (Matthew 16:18). Let Him lead and guide you, and you’ll not miss the mark. Bring the ‘delivered’ to Jesus. Teach them God’s Word. But don’t cage them into your ministry. Allow them to serve the Lord with gladness, creating avenues to let their spiritual gifts come to bear in the fullness of God.

Prayer:

Father, help me discern people as you see them. Give me the tenacity and patience to raise them in godly fear such that they will become all that You created them to be. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
