Be Anxious For Nothing

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;” — Philippians 4:6 NKJV

Life is full of ups and downs. There are probably some past days you’ve rated better than others. It’s not because God made your life to be that way. Instead, it is because this earth is not in the original state God formed it in the beginning after the fall happened in Genesis 3.

Jesus, knowing this very well, never promised us a problem-free life. He told us to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world (John 16:33). But before that, He gave us a key to remaining strong amid life’s difficulties. That is His peace. Let’s look at what He said in John 14:27.

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 14:27 NKJV

So yes. Having constant divine peace filling your thoughts is the key to insulation against anxiety amid life challenges. Haven’t you realised that the commonest thing trials of life take away in many lives is divine peace in their minds? As a child of God, you must learn how to guard your peace. And fortunately, Paul teaches us how to do it in Philippians 4:6 – that is, by prayer.

When you pray when you’re in trouble, God’s peace will fill your heart and mind. You’ll see that even if your situation isn’t fully solved, you’ll be calm as God comes to your rescue.

Anxiety has caused people depression. It has made people commit suicide, and some have even lost great friends. You don’t have to be a part of that kind of people. Learn to pray alone. Learn to lead yourself to submit to God, especially as a man, because everything earthly is temporary, including the issues of life. Be anxious for nothing; God has not forsaken you. He’s with you always.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for teaching me in Your Word that I should be anxious for nothing but to pray always so that Your peace will fill my heart and mind. To any mountain before me, I declare, “Peace (in my heart) be still,” in Jesus’ name. Amen!
