“As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.” — Proverbs 27:19 NIV
Wondering how to figure out the heart’s content of any person? Just study the person for a long time. Things in his heart will spring up one by one. However, it’ll be erroneous to judge people because of this truth. Why? Because Jesus is still in the process of transforming lives.
So just because a man’s life is a reflection of what’s in his heart doesn’t mean you’ll always find something exemplary or evil about him. Sometimes, something harmful happens so that, God will scoop that evil content out of the person’s life.
For example, suppose you meet a godly man who’s responsible and provides for his family. Then one day, he becomes angry and decides not to provide for his family. Unless it’s consistent, then it’s dangerous. But when he comes to his senses, he’ll ask for forgiveness and continue fulfilling responsibility as the Lord blesses him.
This truth stands. A man’s life is a reflection of what is in his heart. And that would mean we should check the things stored in our hearts, especially offences. It should be good and good alone – not evil. Keep your heart with all diligence (Proverbs 4:23).
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Father, in Jesus’ name, help me store only good content in my heart through the consistent intake of Your Word. Empower me to pull out every offence from my mind through quick forgiveness, at every time. Amen!
