Let Your Light Shine Before Others

[14] “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. [15] Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. [16] Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:14-16 (NKJV)

Did you know that this world lies in wickedness (see 1 John 5:19)? You may ask, why that? It’s because sin is on the rise every day. Day in and day out, many people devise new ways to promote evil, even if it means killing others to get what they want. But does God want that to continue happening? Of course not.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:14 that you, as a child of God, are the light of the world. That means that to deal with the darkness in the world, you, the light, ought to shine. Shining requires you to be intentional about witnessing Christ Jesus everywhere you go.

See, many people put up smiling faces each day but have evil motives behind their actions. Can I tell you something? Let your light shine before others so that in your daily life activities, Christ will be made manifest in your life. Preach to others that living unto God is beautiful. May the Lord empower you to live like Jesus, even in this evil generation.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for all You do for me. Help me to make Your light in me shine before others so they can give You glory. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
