Have you ever felt trapped in a cycle of illness, convinced that it is a regular occurrence? Today, let this be a reminder that sickness is not your portion as a child of God. Your inheritance is health, wholeness, and abundance. A certain young woman suffered from stomach ulcers for 5 years, enduring unbearable pain that affected her life. During her final exams, stress triggered an intense episode, leaving her convinced she would fail the exam. But in that moment, she stood firm in her faith and declared healing over her body. Instantly, the pain vanished, and she has barely felt discomfort since. This testimony is a powerful reminder. Today, know this: the sickness you battle today is not your portion, and we declare into existence your healing in Jesus’ name.

Declarations

On an episode of Better Together on TBN, guest speaker Christine Caine shared a profound truth about faith declarations: “It is not calling things which are as though they are not,” she explained, “but calling things which are not as though they are.” In other words, faith-filled declarations are not about denying reality but about boldly speaking the future God has promised into existence. When Christine was diagnosed with cancer, she refused to accept it as her portion, not out of denial but in faith that God’s promise of health belonged to her. Scripture affirms this truth in 1 Peter 2:24, where it says,

“By His wounds, you have been healed.”

This verse signifies that just as Christ bore our sins to bring salvation. He also carried our afflictions so that we could receive complete restoration—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Healing is not just an act of God’s mercy; it is part of the inheritance He has given His children. Like Christine, believers can stand on this truth, declaring health over their lives, trusting that the breakthrough will come through faith, prayer, and taking active steps toward healing.

Seek help

Let’s be clear: God gave knowledge for medicine for a reason. Some believers struggle with the misconception that seeking medical help reflects a lack of faith, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. God graciously provides healing in multiple ways—through divine intervention, faith, prayer, and even medicine. Recognising medical care as a tool God can use is an act of trust in His provision, not a rejection of faith. He bestows doctors with wisdom and skill, as seen in the inspiring story of neurosurgeon Ben Carson, whose God-given talent has saved countless lives.

While some medical practices may conflict with biblical values, medicine itself is a divine gift, often serving as a ministry that brings restoration through a manifestation of knowledge, skill, compassion and love for people.

Your battle may be a stepping stone.

Many biblical figures like Job, the woman with the issue of blood, and countless others faced severe health challenges, yet their trials strengthened their faith and brought glory to God. Your current struggle may be the very stepping stone God uses to elevate your testimony. The key question is: Will you let it defeat you, or allow it to refine and define you?

It’s also essential to prepare your heart for the journey—healing does not always come instantly, and some prayers take time to manifest. God’s ways are higher than ours, and sometimes His answer looks different from what we expect. As Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us,

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.”

Conclusion

So, you are not alone. Continue to trust God’s heart, even when you cannot trace His hand. Whether or not your healing is immediate or gradual, hold onto this truth: sickness is not your portion; health and wholeness are your inheritance in Christ. So stand firm, declare His promises, and continue to live in their reality, for He who began a good work in you will surely bring it to completion.
