Christian landmark days are many every year. And in all of them, Palm Sunday is one of the most widely recognised ones. On every Palm Sunday, many people go to church with palm fronds with them to signify what happened in Jerusalem during Jesus’ triumphant entry, and that is good. But in today’s special article release, I’d like to focus on Jesus’ use of a neglected colt for His triumphant entry – something many people don’t mind, yet very important for you and me.
You are not useless
Before Jesus entered Jerusalem for His entry, He sent two of His disciples and said,
[30] “Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. [31] And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.”
Luke 19:30-31 (KJV)
Can you read that again, this time at a slower pace? Jesus sent for a neglected colt tied to a tree where no man had even sat or ridden on. To me, the situation of the colt was surprising because, in those days, it was one of the most common animals used for transport services.
Jesus didn’t need to hire a used colt but a brand new one, although abandoned. Guess what? No matter who has rejected or neglected you, Jesus needs you.
Jesus didn’t need to hire a used colt but a brand new one, although abandoned. Guess what? No matter who has rejected or neglected you, Jesus needs you. You might be stuck in aloneness in your life, but that doesn’t mean God has overlooked your situation. Come on! If He sent for a neglected colt in a remote village, then God knows how to locate you and turn your life around no matter which corner you are in this world. Don’t ever believe that lie that God has forsaken you despite your life problems. Don’t do that!
Fret not
The fact that God allowed you to come to this world means you are needed. However, it is not everywhere you are needed. The colt was stuck at that tree because the One who needed it had not yet sent for it. Today, let me minister grace to you. Do not worry about your life because when it is your turn, nothing can stop God’s manifestation of His prophecies concerning your life.
