Your Body is God’s Temple

[16] “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” – I Corinthians 3:16 NKJV

How does it feel to look at your own body and think of it as God’s temple? It looks as if it’s not true, but it is. You might say ah, you mean this body of mine is the Almighty God’s temple? Come on. That can’t be true. Oh yes, it is. Indeed, your body is God’s temple.

Sometimes, the truth in God’s Word appears too simple to believe. Meanwhile, God’s Word is powerful and always constant. There are many people, especially women and the sick, who don’t appreciate what their bodies look like now because of some disorders. For many women, no matter how beautiful they are, there seems to be something they don’t really like about themselves. But beholding the truth in the Word holds much power. If you’re a godly lady reading this, look at yourself and tell yourself how God appreciates your body.

Complaining about how bad your body is won’t make you appreciate it and even see it as God’s temple. Don’t do that. See your body as God’s body, dear believer. Use it as God would use it, and don’t abuse it with alcohol, hunger or sexual immorality. Take care of it because without that body, you cannot relate to the world, and your divine purpose will not be fulfilled.

It is my prayer that all believers, regardless of race, will see themselves as God sees them and not as society labels them.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for making me know that my body is Your temple. Provide whatever I need to nourish it and care for it as well as I can. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
