[16] “And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.” – 2 Corinthians 6:16 (NKJV)
Did you know that you are the temple of the living God as a believer? In other words, your whole being is God’s sanctuary, whether you like it or not. That is why you cannot live just anyhow in Christ. Why? Because if you defile your body by engaging it in sinful activities, you are sinning against God, and He will deal with you.
Let me ask you a question. Suppose you are working in an institution. Can you do whatever you want? No! You are under instruction, so you do what’s assigned to you. Isn’t it? In the same way, in Christ, Jesus is your Lord. So you are under His authority. You must live like Him. But the good news is that He knows you cannot do that on your own strength. So what? He gives you the grace to live like Him.
Don’t frustrate God’s grace by neglecting its heavy working power in your life. Keep submitting your whole self to Him to fulfil His will each day. And always remember that you’ll render an account of what you did in your body to Him upon Jesus’ second coming.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to always live in the consciousness that my body is Your sanctuary so I can, by grace, live to fulfil Your will. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
