You Are in the Realm of the Spirit

[9] “You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.” – Romans 8:9 (NIV)

One established truth you must always be conscious of as a child of God is that you are in the realm of the Spirit. Whether you like it or not, you are in the Spirit, and that is your natural abode. Why is this true? The Bible says in Colossians 1:13 (NKJV) that,

“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,”

So, the moment God saved you, He moved you wholly from the power of darkness to the kingdom of Christ. That was a permanent spiritual translation, and nothing can change that. But it is one thing to be in the Spirit and another to walk in accordance with the Spirit. Paul is the first person to raise this alarm when he said in Galatians 5:25 (NKJV) that,

“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”

You are in the realm of the Spirit, but you must live by the dictates of that same Holy Spirit. Failure to do that will end you up gratifying yourself in fleshly desires, which will cost you your spiritual growth in the Lord and affect your life. Come on. God has not put your life on autopilot so that you can do anything without repercussions. If you sow in the Spirit, you’ll reap everlasting life, but if you sow in the flesh, you’ll reap corruption (see Galatians 6:8). Don’t misinterpret God’s principles just to find ways and means to trespass them. Otherwise, it’ll affect you.

Father, thank You for Your gift of eternal life in me. Help me to walk in accordance with Your Spirit, lest I tread upon places that are contrary to Your will. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
