“I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.” - John 9:4 NKJV
God divided the light from the darkness (Genesis 1:4) when He framed the world. He called the light Day and the darkness Night (Genesis 1:5). By doing this, God struck a physical separation between working time and resting time. In other words, working at night isn’t God’s idea. This system is still effective, but it sometimes gets breached, and those who breach it face serious consequences such as stress and sickness.
Jesus understood that He must work while it is day. He didn’t work at night. Rather, He prayed at night and dawn. Jesus also had spiritual insight into what God calls Day in the New Testament. God’s Day isn’t the time between sunrise and sunset. It started when Christ became the light of the world, and it hasn’t ended. In other words, as long as there are people in whom Christ is, there is enough divine light to constitute God’s day. And according to Jesus, we (believers) must work while it is day.
To do this, you must recognize that you’re the light of the Word since Christ is in you (Matthew 5:14, Colossians 1:27). And from this spiritual understanding, stand on the ground to never stop doing good works for the Lord. Friend, you’re the sent of the Lord (John 20:21). Work the works of the One who sent you while it is day. Don’t stop witnessing Christ to the lost in the power of the Spirit. Be strengthened to work while it is God’s Day. I pray God prospers the works of your hands.
You’re a blessing.
