[12] “Words from the mouth of the wise are gracious, but fools are consumed by their own lips.” – Ecclesiastes 10:12 (NIV)
How gracious are the words from the mouth of the wise? They are very sweet. Nevertheless, there are people who don’t care about such words. So, they ignore listening to those God has endowed with His wisdom and end up in places in lives they never dreamt of.
What you pay attention to, both inwardly and outwardly, has much influence on your life. If you are addicted to watching obscene content on social media, it will affect your mind and distract you from thinking through things with godly thoughts. Instead of being influenced negatively by what you see and hear, pay attention to listening to Jesus.
Colossians 2:3 says that Christ is the embodiment of all wisdom and knowledge. That means the grace that comes out from a believer’s mouth endowed with wisdom is from Christ, not the person himself. The truth is that God can make you wise also, if and only if you ask Him (see James 1:5). Why? Because God wants more people to be impacted by His Word. So, don’t be satisfied with constantly receiving from the Lord’s servants; also, be conscious of giving out gracious words to others.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your Word in my life. Help me to love You well. Fill me with Your wisdom so I can use it to impact many lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
