[12] “Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. [13] As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ.” – Philippians 1:12-13 (NIV)
When Paul was writing to the Philippian church, he was in prison. He should have been very discouraged during his writing. But guess what? He wasn’t. He said in Philippians 1:12 that what happened to him, his imprisonment, has served to advance the gospel. He had more time to be alone in God’s presence to get a lot of mysteries to put in writing. And I am glad the whole world is benefiting from his work today.
Sometimes, life might be difficult. You may go through very awkward things just because of your faith and purpose, and it can be so bad that you may not even understand what God is doing with your life. In those moments, I plead with you not to rush out of that season. Sit back, reflect on God’s dealings, strategically plan your life according to God’s direction, and move on in faith.
It is not always easy. But with God on your side, it is well with you. Witness Jesus well wherever you are, no matter the situation. If he was with Paul and had helped his work remain relevant in this generation, then indeed, He has not neglected your secret labours. He will reward you well.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to love and cherish You deeply in my heart. May I witness You well in power wherever I go. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
