[7] “I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.” – Luke 15:7 (NKJV)
God still prioritises salvation, although He wants all men to know Him intimately also (see John 17:3, 1 Timothy 2:4). Over the years, the number of crusades held to proclaim the gospel of Jesus has been reducing. Although organisations like Christ for All Nations (CfAN), a ministry founded by the late Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke and now headed by Evangelist Daniel Kolenda, are doing much, many churches don’t hold crusades anymore. Rarely will you see people preach about hell these days. It looks like many are putting the message of salvation aside. Meanwhile, what brings joy in heaven is sinners getting saved.
As a ministry leader, I have learnt over the years that where purpose is not consistently emphasised, people tend to do other things. One time, I was shocked when a church leader told me that they should emphasise giving dress codes to church members on Sundays instead of inviting people to church. You see, some church cultures are not wrong per se. However, some are not necessary as compared to God’s salvation agenda.
Today, many believers are settling for a comfortable way of living by compromise instead of preaching the gospel of Jesus. It’s such a tragic thing happening; believers are giving people legitimate shreds of evidence to despise the gospel.
If you’re a ministry leader reading this, please insist on leading the church to evangelise to people. If you’re a Christian belonging to a church, never forget to preach Jesus to people who come around you or who you encounter in life. Enough of beating around the gospel. Hell must be depopulated. Play your part!
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, lead me to evangelise the gospel to the lost. Help me to depopulate candidates of hell by preaching the gospel of Jesus to them. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
