“Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 6:1 NKJV
Several people have different intentions for giving in Christ. Some give to get. Others do their possible best to get in order to give. Some also give out of compulsion, and some, to prove to others that they have money.
Whatever your intention for giving is, you’ve got to refine it and realign your mind to what the scripture teaches. Why? Because there’s a penalty for wrong giving. Jesus said anyone who gives intending to let others see their charitable works won’t receive any reward from God.

When I read it, I said, “wow,” to myself. I suppose this is one of the main reasons why people are giving in the ministry, yet they are still poor because they aren’t giving rightly. Reading 2 Corinthians 9:7 (NKJV), the Bible says
“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”
You don’t have to let a third party know about your generosity. Neither do you have to make a public show of your donations in the media for people’s praise. You only have to do one thing: obey God’s Word by giving rightly.
To give rightly in Christ, give out of privilege and cheerfully, not out of compulsion. Continue blessing people’s lives financially. But do it well.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Father, give me the grace to excel in supporting your work financially with a cheerful heart. Cleanse every dirty intention for supporting Your work in my heart. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
