The Wicked Borrow and Do Not Repay

[21] “The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously;” – Psalms 37:21 (NIV)

Did you know it is actually wickedness to borrow and make up your mind not to pay back? Several people, including some believers, are practically living out this wicked act. I remember a fellow believer to whom I lent some money, promising to pay it back in a few weeks. Did you know it took the person over a year to settle that debt? The sincerity people use to borrow money is different from what they use to pay back. Because of this, some people don’t even lend others money any more.

Dear friend, have you owed people for a long time? Are you happy about it? No. Right? Why don’t you determine in your heart to settle every debt you owe, even those from several years ago? Debt is not good as long as you abandon its repayment. It’ll paint a bad reputation for yourself to others, and you’ll lose connections to precious and influential people because of that behaviour.

Live clean before God and before men. The same people who are going to help you when you are down may be there to help you rise again when life gets tough. Wickedness is never good when it is related to you. Strive to have good relationships with people no matter their age.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your grace and mercy. May I never soil my integrity before You and others by living a life that doesn’t glorify Your name. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
