The Lord Shall Preserve You From All Evil

[7] “The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. [8] The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.” – Psalms 121:7-8 (NKJV)

In today’s world, it’s increasingly becoming rare to wake up and check the news without seeing at least one evil thing done which has been published. Siblings fighting one another for an inheritance, wars between countries, etc. Although I don’t really like checking the news, anytime I pass by a place where there’s a television tuned to news hour and see such instances, I remind myself that we live in an evil age (see Galatians 1:4). And also, because anybody not subjected to the cleansing power of the Word will keep doing evil things, it’s common to see sins here and there done by this grievous people.

As a child of God reading this, I want to ask you a simple question. Do you let those things you hear in the news scare you? Or do you tell yourself that the Lord shall preserve you from all evil? If the former is always your reaction, then there’s a problem with your belief system.

God is so determined to preserve His loved ones from evil. Why? Because He needs them to fulfil His dominion mandate on Earth. In fact, He’s so intentional about it that He is careful to choose those He allows to come into their lives for specific purposes. That is why it’s unusual for a strong Christian to have an unbeliever as his best friend.

Dear believer, double-check before involving yourself in anything you intend to do. If you heard God tell you to do something in life, trust Him for strength and provision, both human-resource-wise and financial-wise, to fulfil that vision. Staying concentrated on your vision is key to safety in life. I pray that in the name of Jesus, the Lord will guard your life against wrong associations.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, guide me according to Your divine path for my life. Lead me to people and places where You’ve ordained me to be. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
