[7] “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. [8] Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” — James 4:7 - 8 NIV
Over a few years of living and working with some great ministers, I’ve understood the practicality of this statement: submission makes you malleable in life.
What is the malleability of a metal? Its ability to be twisted in different shapes in order to make it easier to form what it has to get used for easily. Right? That’s how every believer’s life has been programmed by God. He knows the complete plan for our lives. So, on the road to complete manifestation, He submits us to be tutored by men under authority for our lives to be well-guided until we become mature enough to discern God’s leading for our lives. Galatians 4:2 (NIV) says,
[2] “The heir is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father.”
From this text, it means as long as you’re not fully built for your specific calling in the Lord, He’ll make you submit to a higher authority for your tutelage and guidance.
Maybe you’re serving in the unseen department or ministry in your local church. Meanwhile, God has called you to reach nations in His own unique way. Never say because you know your mandate, you’re going to rebel against spiritual authority. Continue serving. When it’s time for God to take you out from there, He knows how to do it without your struggle.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, I ask You for immense guidance in every area of my life. Give me great people of authority who can tutor me in my walk of destiny, both to train me and keep me on course. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
