Speak Life Unto That Dead Situation

[43] Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” [44] And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.” – John 11:43-44 (NKJV)

In yesterday’s devotional, I spoke about not giving an excuse for your miracle. But today, I want to focus on another dimension of the same Biblical story that helped Mary and Martha to experience Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. Jesus didn’t speak timidly when He prayed for Lazarus to come forth. For that last part of John 11:43 to end with an exclamation mark, it means that Jesus really shouted with divine authority backing His words to raise Lazarus from the dead. As a believer, that same Spirit that quickened Jesus to perform that miracle also dwells in you.

Can I tell you something? You are more powerful as a believer than you think. The Spirit of God in you is not a mere Spirit with a characteristic of fear and timidity. No! He is a Spirit of fire, and He gives order to things. You have to step up and take charge of that situation. Is it a conspiracy against you? Get up and pray. Is it the fear of not getting a job? Don’t let that paralyse you. Speak life unto that situation.

All the four days Mary and Martha mourned over Lazarus’ death didn’t bring him to life. So, worrying, complaining, mourning and crying over your situation never changes things. It is your stepping up to take charge that makes the difference. Speak in tongues, dear believer. God is up to something extraordinary in your life. Never settle for less.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me to be bold and take charge of matters when they arise. May I never be a slave to fear and timidity over anything that happens in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
