Seek, and You Will Find

[9] “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” – Luke 11:9 (NKJV)

You and I often hear, “Ask, and it will be given to you.” But have you ever sat down to meditate on “seek, and you will find?” Did you know that seeking is much more intense work than asking? Jesus didn’t mince words when He was saying these things.

Some people settle on asking God but not seeking what they want from Him. To seek from the Lord means to persist in prayer about the same request unto Him. On top of that, that person doesn’t give up on that request until heaven grants it to him. That should be part and parcel of your life as a child of God, especially if you are a minister and you need some dimensions of grace to flourish in ministry well. Jesus said in Matthew 11:12 (NKJV) that,

“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.”

So, from this, you need to learn how to tarry in prayer because even kingdom matters don’t get addressed without contentions in the Spirit realm. We are dealing with an enemy who’s skilful in deceiving people and is the present “god” of this world (see 2 Corinthians 4:4). So, don’t think he’ll smile and just let things go smoothly for you in this world. He is capable of creating contentions. Don’t be slack in prayer. Pray earnestly, child of God.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me to tarry in prayer as I fellowship with You every day. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
