Many Words Don’t Guarantee Answered Prayers

[7] “And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. [8] “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.” – Matthew 6:7-8 (NKJV)

One of the most challenging things to do in prayer is to keep speaking in a natural language for long. In fact, it’s hard to pray in that way. And that is why tongues speaking is so good and beneficial to the believer. It helps you to pray with so much strength and focus on God as the Spirit gives you utterance (see Acts 2:4). However, back in Jesus’ days when there were no tongues speaking, many people were using repetitive words in their prayers. And guess what? Most of those kinds of people thought their prayers were well answered. But Jesus said otherwise.

The Son of Man said when we pray, we shouldn’t behave like heathen people who use babblings to pray. Instead, we should focus on enjoying God as we fellowship with Him. It’s very simple.

Many words don’t guarantee answered prayers. Babbling doesn’t mean God will hear you. In fact, Jesus said before you’ll even utter words to pray God already knows your needs. So don’t pray thinking God doesn’t know what you’re about to say. Instead, focus on applying your faith as you pray unto the Lord. He is with you.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Thank You, Father, for knowing my needs. Help me to pray meaningful prayers full of faith for me to get appropriate results. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
