“And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ” — Genesis 3:2-3 NKJV
One quality every godly man looks out for in a potential mate is the female’s teachability. Many Christian spinsters encounter issues in their relationships, not because of their boyfriends, but because they aren’t ready to submit to the man’s teaching of Christ.
When God placed Adam in Eden and instructed him not to eat any fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, the woman wasn’t there (see Genesis 2:15-17). Now that means that after Eve was made, Adam was supposed to teach his wife about the Word of God concerning the forbidden tree.
Scripture doesn’t state emphatically whether God Himself or Adam taught Eve not to eat from the forbidden tree. But from the answer Eve gave the serpent in Genesis 3:2, it was clear that what Eve knew was communicated knowledge, not spiritual understanding. Why do I say this?
Eve never started replying to the serpent as “God said we are not to eat from this tree.” She just answered the serpent based on what was in her mind. If God Himself taught her this instruction, she would have even become afraid to even go near it. Adam taught her. However, he (Adam) failed to instil the fear of God in his wife. That is why despite her knowledge, she got influenced by the serpent to disobey God’s command.
Man, teach your partner the Word of God. Furthermore, you must ensure the Word you teach gets soaked up so much in the female’s heart and mind that there’ll be reverence and obedience to the principles of God without any littlest degree of compromise.
You may not be a pastor or a minister, but as soon as you get married, you become the spiritual head of your home. When you start teaching your partner the ways of God starting from your relationship, you build her up spiritually, create an avenue for your personal spiritual growth (because you’ll study what you’ll teach her), and also prove to God that you can steward His heritage, the children (Psalm 127:3.)

Spinsters, it’s God’s perfect idea for you to marry a minister. Look out for that Word-teaching quality in the man who proposes to you before accepting it. It’s for your good.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Father in Jesus’ name, I come before you. Help me grow spiritually to the level that, as a man, I’ll be able to depend on Your grace to teach my partner your everlasting Word. Amen!
