Humble Yourself to Relate Well with Various Kinds of People

[16] “Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.” – Romans 12:16 (NIV)

Human relationships are one of the most difficult areas of life. Relational problems between people at home, in workplaces, in organisations, and even in communities contribute to a lack of harmony and trust among many people. It’s such a tragedy that some people have tagged certain tribes as evil all because of behavioural patterns among many others hailing from such regions. But I came to announce to you today that you are different!

As a believer, your spiritual make-up has been changed to its very core by God. That is why you are a new creature in Christ (see 2 Corinthians 5:17). So, your way of life, regardless of your physical descent, ought to be of God. Any believer who doesn’t live in God’s ways has an issue with spiritual identity crises, which can be solved when he prioritises and works on his spiritual growth.

You can live in harmony with others because God’s Spirit in you doesn’t foster interpersonal relationship problems. You can relate well with all manner of people because God has given you both wisdom and tenacity to handle people. But you need to humble yourself under God’s mighty hand to live as you ought to in the Lord, even as you put the sinful flesh under subjection. Control yourself, dear one.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me to relate with others well and wisely through the wisdom You have given me. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
