“The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever.” — Genesis 13:14-15 NIV
God is able to do exceedingly abundantly all we can think. He’s the source of vision. And therefore, our creative thoughts can never exceed His for us. However, how far we can go with Him depends hugely on how far we can see ahead. If you’re limited in your mind, you’ll be limited in your work output. That’s why it’s significant to stay committed and connected to God because He expands your vision as you follow Him.
God called Abraham to follow Him to a land He’d show him (Genesis 12:1). God never told him to leave his family with Lot, his cousin. But Lot went with him. However, God wasn’t angry because He knew how to separate them. A few verses after Abraham had departed from his family with Lot, their flock herders got into a feud. And eventually, they got separated.
The Lord then appeared to Abraham again and reaffirmed His promise upon His life. However, this time, God wanted Abraham to look around from where he was standing towards every part of his compass. Then God told Abraham that He’ll give him the land of Canaan to him and his descendants forever. God didn’t limit Abraham. He wanted him to see far. How far can you see?
Nobody on this earth can fathom the great things God has prepared ahead of you. They may talk about it, but they don’t know it. Don’t be perplexed or troubled just because the one close to you can’t see God’s plan for your life. God didn’t condemn Lot for choosing the plain of Sodom (which later became a pile of rubble). He just showed Abraham a glimpse of what He was about to do in his life, and fortunately, Abraham listened to Him. Friend, continue doing good to people while pursuing your divine calling even if they leave you. God won’t fail you.
You’re a blessing.
