[33] “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” — Matthew 6:33 NKJV
I suppose you’ve read or heard so many people preach about Matthew 6:33 and how it helps us, the children of God, to focus on serving God instead of chasing material possessions. If yes, that’s great. But there’s more. Grace loads you with benefits without your struggle.
Before Jesus’s words in Matthew 6:33, He spoke of how people chase after material things like food, drinks and clothing. And then He continued that to the child of God, seeking first God’s kingdom won’t make him chase after such things. However, they’d be added to his life.
That means God isn’t against we having food to eat, water to drink, clothes to wear and other material things people use to measure life. However, He doesn’t want all our labour to merely be focused on getting those things.
God wants us to be more concerned with reaching the world through kingdom service. Then, He’ll take responsibility to bring us those things people work for without our struggle by His grace. Psalm 68:19 (NKJV) says,
“Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation! Selah”
God loads us with benefits daily to the point that even unbelievers enjoy some. Why? Because when He sends the rain, those who’re not saved even get water to drink.
Now if God is that generous, how much won’t He add whatever He knows you need to prosper as you serve Him? You don’t have to work for everything You want to achieve in life once you’re serving God. He’ll make provisions to add many things you need to your life without you struggling to get them. Only let your mind be on Him, and you’ll live in peace, not pricking yourself with the cares of the world.
Prayer:
Father, I choose to serve You all the days of my life. As I utilise this kingdom privilege, I affirm Your promise that You’ll add what others seek in life by grace without my struggle. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
