[5] “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” – Psalms 30:5 (NIV)
How often have you read the Bible and seen God’s anger last for a long time? It’s not in the Word. Anytime God got angry, especially in the Old Testament, He punished or intended to punish those who made Him angry. God is not like a man to be overly angry and do regrettable things that will affect generations because of emotions. No! In Psalm 30:5, it is clearly written that God’s anger lasts only for a moment. However, his favour lasts a lifetime.
Here’s a profound truth. God is not and will not be angry with you for long, no matter what you do. He isn’t like other smaller gods who rain down perpetual judgment on people who offend them. He is in a loving relationship with you, and as long as that holds true, He can chastise you for doing something wrong, but not to be excessively angry with you.
Do you feel that God is angry with you? Are you feeling convicted of wrongdoing by the Holy Spirit? God is telling you to get back on track with Him, not to push you aside. Instead of running away from God and the ministry, go before Him in repentance, and He will restore you.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for every chastisement You have meted out on my life so that I can get back on track with You. May I never miss Your providential way in life. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
