Enable Patience To Calm Quarrels

[18] “A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel.” — Proverbs 15:18 NIV

I had an issue with my temper when I was a child till I got constantly confronted by several friends in Christ who loved me enough to let me know of my weakness. Because of that, quarrelling was something normal to me. Today, Jesus has set me free through His transformative work in my heart; glory to God!

Genuine peacemakers in the Lord aren’t always after who won an argument. They’re after the betterment of each party, even if one has to admit he’s wrong.

To be hot-tempered means to be a conflict-stirrer. But to be patient in hot seasons is to calm quarrels (see Proverbs 15:18 NIV). Sometimes, the best answer to hot words from a person, especially close friends, is silence in patience. You may have a point to prove. But winning an argument with someone else isn’t always a win for both of you, especially if it doesn’t restore peace.

Genuine peacemakers in the Lord aren’t always after who won an argument. They’re after the betterment of each party, even if one has to admit he’s wrong. Are you a peacemaker or conflict creator?

Maybe you’re hot-tempered because of the way you got raised from home. But I tell you that God has the keys to transform you wholly. He’ll give you beauty for ashes. Enable patience to calm quarrels, and you’ll live a peaceful life.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your love. Bring to bear Your patience in my heart and develop my inner tenacity to manage relationships with divine wisdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
