Clothe Yourself with the Lord Jesus

[13] “Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. [14] Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.” – Romans 13:13-14 NIV

After bathing, what do you do? You dress up upon entering the room. Right? But why? Because you don’t want to walk around naked. So yes, clothing is essential. But clothing has, for a while, been limited to physicality. Today, I want us to look at spiritual clothing.

As a believer, you need to clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ. Oh, but you may say, I am born again. Why should I clothe myself with Christ if His Spirit lives in me (according to Romans 8:9)? When the scripture says this, God is talking about living in the consciousness of the same Christ in you.

You see, we are in the world but not of the world. But because we see what’s in the world more often, it’s crucial to constantly recline and remind ourselves of who we are in Christ, who is able to guide our lives in the order of the Lord.

Knowing more about your identity in Christ and walking in it thereof is dependent on how you handle your relationship with Him. So, pursue a deeper intimacy with the Lord starting today.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for giving me a strong identity in You. May I walk in the consciousness of it. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
