“Seven times a day I praise You, Because of Your righteous judgments.” — Psalms 119:164 NKJV
David was a man after God’s heart. He loved to praise God and write and sing hymns. But he was a king, and in addition to it, he had a large family under his care.
Aside from all the daily responsibilities in his life, he never neglected his personal fellowship with God. Though he was a busy man and a warrior, he didn’t joke about his time alone with God. One of the things he did to sustain his spiritual intimacy with God was to build a culture of praising God seven times daily.
You become more productive when you’re strengthened by God, not pressured by your duties.

In those days, there wasn’t anything like phone reminders, alarms or task schedule apps. There was no technology at all. However, he made sure to structure his entire daytime well; so that he’d dedicate certain specific times to praise God. Was this not the same thing Daniel did in a different way? He prayed three times a day (Daniel 6:10). These things aren’t acts of religiosity or stringent spiritual disciplines. They are all meant to enhance your fellowship with God.
There are so many things technology can help you do to become more intimate with God. Your phone can help you pray by reminding you when it’s time to pray based on your own settings. You can use Bible apps to listen to Bible verses while you are walking.
Watch your life closely. Structure your schedule well. And avoid giving excuses for not having time with God only because of work or other agendas. You become more productive when you’re strengthened by God, not pressured by your duties. Follow Christ.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Father, I pray that You’ll help me to build a culture of praising you every now and then for what you’re doing in my life. Let me not get demoralised because of life circumstances. I choose to put my trust in You for my future. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
