Blessed Is the One Whose Delight Is in the Law of the Lord

[1] “Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
[2] But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.” – Psalms 1:1-2 (NKJV)

Do you know that there’s a blessing that comes forth to the one whose delight is in the law of the Lord? Yes, there is. Why do I say that? Because scripture says so. But in this world, many Christians do not see the manifestation of these promises. Why? I would say it’s because of two primary reasons.

Their wrong view about what God calls “blessings.”
Their inability to apply God’s principles to yield tangible results.

The explanation of a word is usually detected most accurately in scripture at its first mention. When God blessed Adam and Eve in Genesis 1:28, He gave a command on how they could exercise dominion with that blessing. That is, be fruitful, multiply, replenish the Earth and fill it. At that time, there were no material possessions. So, blessings before God aren’t primarily about material possessions. It is the spiritual power that magnetises them to you, which you have as God’s child.

Next is how to use that power to manifest God’s abundant provision. In this comes the knowledge and application of divine principles for God to act upon them. For example, in Genesis 8:22, the Bible says that there will always be sowing and reaping as long as the earth remains. So, if you sow something, such as a wise investment or a prayer inspired by the Word, for something, you will reap the results. However, that result will be influenced by God to make the effect better. So, when the Bible says blessed is the one whose delight is in the law of the Lord, it means that God has not called you to sleep and wait for His manifestation of divine blessings. He is actually telling you to use the knowledge you’ve received in His Word to work.
