[5] “so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.” – Romans 12:5 (NKJV)
Studying the human body back in my senior high school days during biology classes was one of the most exciting times I ever had in school. Sometimes, my teacher would explain how the body’s organs function, leaving me amazed. God is such the perfect Creator that despite how complex each human body is, He has made it in such a way that all of them function together. You may never know how important one tiny body part is until a small problem arises. Take the appendix for an example. For years, scientists thought it was useless. But whenever a problem was encountered with it, surgery had to be done to remove it. No part of the human body is useless!
But there is more to learn here. You may have read in several areas of scripture that the Church is the body of Christ, with Jesus functioning as the head. Beautiful! Guess what? The Church is an organism where each part collaborates with others for maximum impact. That is why you’ll not hear the term “competition” between churches. Why! Because it’s of no need. Businesses can compete with one another, but churches can only collaborate.
Dear man of God, refuse to raise a people who you want to only listen to your sermons. You are not a secluded unit in the body of Christ. You need others. Be your brother’s keeper in Christ. There is no need to tear one another down because of earthly reasons. No! Identify who you are in Christ and function as such.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me be my brother’s keeper in Christ effectively. May I never be a person who causes division among others in the ministry. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
