“He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.” — Luke 16:10 NKJV
In life, every person is an overseer. If you’re not an overseer of anything in church, organization, or a small group, you’re at least an overseer of your own life. Why? Because if the Bible tells us to watch our lives closely (1 Timothy 4:16), then we are overseers of our lives, especially as ministers of the gospel.
One principle that cuts across every place you’ll find delegates to tasks is the principle of faithfulness. When you’re given a position in a church, school, small group, or organization, how you’ll do the work will determine whether you’re a faithful overseer or not.
People who do things haphazardly eventually become either unfaithful or less faithful in whatever that’s given unto them to handle. In the same way, those faithful to handle little things assigned to them definitely become more faithful when big things get entrusted to their care. Why is this so?
Jesus said in Luke 16:10 that anybody faithful in the least things is also faithful in much. You may have asked yourself, “how is this possible? How can I be sure that when something huge gets entrusted to someone who has only been faithful in little things, he’ll not mess it up?”
Well, there’s something hidden in there. As Jesus spoke about faithfulness, He also referred to the potential in faithful people. One thing about potential is that the more demands get placed on it, the more results it produces.
In Christ, there’s a constant supplication of grace for whoever places a demand to manifest God’s hidden potential in him (or her). The more you use the anointing to perform kingdom assignments, the more you’ll gain spiritual strength, which in most cases, gets manifested in the human physical strength.
Now, that doesn’t mean you’ll not get tired. Indeed, you will. But when it comes to giving up, it’ll not even be part of your thoughts. You’ll always think of pressing on to move forward.
Friend, Jesus has promised that there’s an assurance for you to progress if you’ll be a faithful overseer of whatever you have. See faithfulness as a report card. If you excel by constantly placing demands on your potential through the anointing, God will take you higher. He’ll give you more work and entrustments. You’re able! Be a faithful overseer and steward God’s possessions well.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Father, I receive grace to continue moving forward. Help me place demands on the immense potential You’ve deposited in me; so that I can achieve much for Your Kingdom. Amen!
