“Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest.” — Proverbs 26:2 NIV
Have you ever heard of people saying wrong things about you because of something good you did? Maybe yes; maybe not. But I’ve seen some before. And when I heard it, I was heartbroken for a while, having done good to someone only to receive evil curses. However, when I read and meditated on Proverbs 26:2, it changed the whole scene.
The Bible says that an undeserved curse will not come to rest. Such a curse is compared to a fluttering sparrow (a sparrow always moving back and forth without rest); it’ll never work because it has no root.
If you do something evil to others and they curse you, that curse can work because of that wrong thing you did. But even that, you can ask for forgiveness or plead your case before heaven to release you of that curse through the cleansing power of the blood of Christ.
However, God created us believers in Christ unto good works (Ephesians 2:10). So following this simple godly lifestyle will eliminate you from getting cursed because you’ll not commit evil to others.
As much as possible, live in peace with everyone (Romans 12:18, Hebrews 12:14). So that the devil will not have any foothold in your life to destroy things.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, cause me to walk unwaveringly in your paths. Lead and guide me in the way everlasting; that my life will become a testimony of the supernatural works of Jesus in this dark and broken world. Amen!
