[26] “An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.” – Proverbs 24:26 (NIV)
Kissing on the lips, in Christ, is a practice exclusively reserved for married couples. Although I don’t have any scripture prohibiting believers from kissing each other, kissing on the lips is so pleasurable and bonding. Couples use it more as foreplay to prepare for penetrative sex, which is quite okay. Interestingly, Solomon used it to write a proverb.
He said in Proverbs 24:26 that an honest answer is like a kiss on the lips. In other words, answering questions honestly is so pleasurable that it’s able to bond involving parties closer. It is proven in scripture that honesty in communication is an excellent tool for fostering marital bond between a couple.
Dear friend, if you want to earn the trust of people you work for or in a specific relationship with, don’t make lying your hallmark. Don’t ever lie about something you did for the sake of escaping punishment. Here’s something noteworthy. Truth sets free; lies soil your integrity.
As a believer, know that obeying God is worth more than disobeying Him with the aim of protecting your life. When things turn out worse for you because you were honest, remember that the God you serve will never leave nor forsake you. He will vindicate anyone who caused you harm for obeying Him. Don’t take vengeance on people to yourself. It is God’s work, not yours.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to love You all the days of my life and make honesty my hallmark. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
