By[14] “Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers, But a prudent wife is from the LORD.” – Proverbs 19:14 (NKJV)
By the grace of God, I have lived to experience people inheriting wealth and houses from parents and grandparents. Such people’s lives change drastically as their standards of living upgrade. But what about acquiring a wife as a man? The Bible says a prudent wife is from the Lord.
Do you know the meaning of the word “prudent” in Proverbs 19:14? It refers to a person who wisely understands things. Such a person isn’t average in what she does but excellent. To get such a wife to marry, dear believer, you cannot do it in your strength. You need God! Some young believers think it’s very easy to find prudent wives who will be with them forever. See. It isn’t easy. This is a generation where women are hyper-sexualised, taken advantage of, and not taught how to live in reverence to God in all areas of their lives. Hmm!
If you are reading this devotional today, please don’t take this lightly. As a man, pursue after Jesus, be at rest, and He will help you get a prudent wife who’ll be a massive plus to your life. However, as a woman, don’t be desperate to get into a relationship. Wait on God as He brings godly men across your path. And depend on Him for wisdom on who to accept one’s proposal. Don’t ever give your body to a man you’re not married to for sex. You are more precious than being used as a satisfaction for someone’s sexual urges. May the Lord guide you in all your ways.
