A New Year Ahead of Us

[19] “Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.” – Isaiah 43:19 (NKJV)

Prior to writing this devotional, I did a little research on the Gregorian calendar. I realised that Pope Gregory XIII designed it, and became effective in 1582. But that said, it means to us that believers shouldn’t limit what God wants to do in our lives. Why do I say this? Because when God made the world, He didn’t create a calendar for it. The Earth doesn’t know today’s date, nor does the sun. It is astronomy that has brought this improvement, and it is good.

As we prepare for a new year ahead of us, I want to ask you, what has God told you? What does He want you to do in that year that will end up changing the course of things in your life for good? You see, years come, and years go. Things only change when work is done to bring such a change. Right? So, reiterate what God’s Word says in Isaiah 43:19 and let it permeate your spirit to the very core.

God says He will do a new thing, and that thing shall spring forth. He wants you to be well aware of it. On top of that, He is saying that He will make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. That means that if you are in a wilderness season in your life, where everything seems dry, He will help you come out of it. He will make you enjoy provision even while you are in the desert. You don’t have to fret about your life. Come on! Get up and stir your spirit in prayer. God will never leave nor forsake you. He has His best interests at heart for you. Believe Him to do great things for you in the upcoming year.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for promising me that You will do a new thing. Help me to stand firm in believing what You have said concerning my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
