“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV
1st January marks the beginning of a spiritual awakening in many lives. It’s the day many people start working out new year’s resolutions and making decisions to live better lives than in previous years. But sometimes, we forget that this day is just like any other day. It’ll pass. Time waits for no man, and if there’s something to do, you better do it now than wait for every new year. Let’s look at something powerful in 2 Corinthians 5:17.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV
Paul says when a person comes to Christ and gets saved, he is born anew. In other words, who he is in Christ is entirely different from who he was without Christ. That’s the best way to start a new year. You can only have a new life beginning when you get born again and decide to follow Christ, not when you see a new year on your calendar.
God hasn’t transformed many lives because they try to live better than their former ways without Him and His divine wisdom. Maybe, you’re part of the people I’m speaking of. Check your life well. Evaluate it. Make decisions sourced from revelation from God, and this year will be a memorable one. Shalom.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Father, I pray that as I start this year, I commit my life to you. Take control of my decisions, my choices and my ways. Increase my spiritual understanding of life, and I’ll not be the same again. This is my prayer. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
