Be Still Before the Lord

[7] “Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.” – Psalms 37:7 (NIV)

One of the most challenging things some believers find doing is learning to be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him. Do you know why? Because inherent in everyone is that desire to thrive and progress, and I understand it. However, many people see new things emerging in the world every day. They see what other people are doing and try to compare their lives to theirs, forgetting that each one has their own private issues they are dealing with.

Here’s something I have realised about life. If you compare your life to others, you’ll never feel satisfied or content with what you have, and that is one of the primary ways greed grows in people. If you know the issues people are facing despite the flashy cars they are driving (of which some haven’t fully paid for) and all the social media hype they may have, you will never wish to be like another person.

People are living good lives, and some are having difficulties. If you feel that things have been late in your life, God has got you covered. He will come through for you. However, you must take steps to improve as you receive it from the Lord in prayer. Don’t think things will work just because you prayed. Go to work, but when God is silent, wait for Him. Surely, He will speak to you.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for helping me. Help me to keep receiving directions from You on what to do next as I live to fulfil Your will. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
